Hello World My name is Johnny, I retired a few years ago, got bored and started spending endless hours on the internet searching and reading about all things boats. I also started to fantasize about places to visit, by boat of course. And not just any boat but by my dream boat, which has changed a couple of times, ( hey it is my fantasy ). Currently my dream boat is an Antares 44i. At this time in my life most of my adventures are via blogs and videos of sailing families and solo adventurers, except for the occasional cruise on a big ship. There really is no physical boat in my future for many reasons. So I will leave that there. As with most people that have spent a lot of time on the internet, I have collected over a thousand links and have probably visited ten times that many sites. Last week I started thinking, in the spirit of Christmas, about giving back. That is when I came up with this wild idea of: why not pay forward to those who will be wanting to adventure on a boat in the future. They need a place to start learning about boats and I have a thousand links that could help them actually make their dream come true. Why not start a site to help orient them and jump start them with their dream of adventuring on a boat? So I plunked down some money, bought this domain and started writing and categorizing my links. I still have a bunch to go but my new adventure begins, I'm thinking of calling what I'm doing; "desktop sailing" or "laptop adventuring" or "mobile circumnavigation" or ???

I love the idea of setting up a site for desktop sailing, laptop adventuring etc. There are so many folks out there (and I was one of them) who love to read about sailing and cruising but don't know where to start. Your site looks really clean and crisp and I love the image you have up on the top. Looking forward to exploring and following along :-)

"Desktop sailing" ... I love that! I believe most of my followers are doing the same -- dreaming the cruising dream. What an awesome site to help them accomplish their goal. Great resources and references all in one place. Thank you Johnny!

Looking forward to learning lots more. And I do hope you will continue to blog yourself too.
